Health Science Technology Academy

Health Science Education comprises the body of subject mater and of planned learning experiences designed to prepare persons with competencies required to assist qualified health professional in providing diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative, restorative and rehabilitative services to patients in health care facilities, in home and in the community.

Mission Statement
The Health Science Academy of Felix Varela Senior High School, believes that students need to understand the relationship between their academic program and the real world. We will provide our students with the hands-on experiences, career development, transferable skills and leadership opportunities necessary to enter their desired career field. With emphasis placed on anatomy and physiology, we will provide the discipline needed to work in the health field as it can be complicated and challenging. We will help nurture the dedication, empathy and respect that is needed by all health care workers in order to be an effective and well trained professional.
